The true essence of Christmas was experienced at the ongoing Christmas Eve Service with the man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome, beamed LIVE from the LoveWorld Convocation Arena, Lagos, Nigeria to a global audience.

Everyone was excited, basking in the euphoria of the season, as they anticipate God’s Word to them for the time from the lips of Pastor Chris. Exhilarating Christmas Carol renditions by the choir, musical and dance performances by LMAM artistes, and the reading of the scriptures are also on the agenda for tonight’s event.

Pastor Chris Expounds on the Purpose of the Season at Christmas Eve Service

“Jesus came on a mission, and He lived His mission; discover your purpose and live it!” —Pastor Chris to global audience.

The 2019 Christmas Eve Service with Pastor Chris, which was hosted from the LoveWorld Convocation Arena, Lagos, Nigeria, was replete with memorable Christmas moments. Every segment and presentation during the service afforded attendees and viewers around the world the opportunity to experience and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

The man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome, while teaching during the service, expounded on the true purpose of Christmas. Reading from Luke 19:10, he emphasized that Jesus came to the earth on a mission and He lived His mission. “God has never created anything without a purpose, therefore discover your purpose and live it,’’ Pastor Chris urged the global audience. Further expatiating on the purpose of Jesus’ birth, Pastor Chris stated that He came to give us life that we may live and also to bring us into union with God, referencing Romans 8:1-2, John 1:9 -13, 1 John 4:9 and other scriptures. Demonstrating the love of Christ and the essence of His birth, Pastor Chris prayed specially for all participants around the world ministering healing to the sick and special blessings to the people.

A unique segment of the service was the introduction of the Christian Entertainment International Awards, which saw the presentation of special awards to individual artistes, groups and production teams for their stellar performances at the night’s event. Some of the presentations recognized include: Best Performance, claimed by Rita Soul; Best Songs; and the overall Best Song, ‘He is Real’ by Pastor Saki.

Pastor Chris led the singing of the traditional ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas song,’ accompanied by senior ministers who took the song in turns to wish the world a merry Christmas. Pastor Chris also invited members of the LMAM who joined him to sing and dance to a special merry Christmas song composed by the LMAM which brought the service to a climactic close.
