He Led Captivity Captive

on Feb 26 in Healing tagged by admin

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men” (Ephesians 4:8).

The Apostle Paul quoted the opening verse from Psalms 68:18: “Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.”

Notice that Paul said, “…he led captivity captive…” not, “he led captors captive.” Captivity here refers to the power, authority and activities of the captors. Their right and power to hold man in captivity was taken captive; that right was seized by Jesus! He took it from Satan and his cohorts; they don’t have it anymore; so “captivity” has been held captive!

Today, no one should be legally held captive by Satan, sickness or disease; all you have to do is announce your freedom. This is why Paul, in the city of Lystra, could say to a man who was impotent in his feet, and had never walked from birth, “Sir, stand up!” Paul didn’t even have to pray for him. Paul’s audacity of faith resulted from his knowledge that “captivity” had been held captive.

The power to hold men captive has been seized by Jesus Christ. Thus, live free from sickness, disease, poverty, failure or anything connected to Satan and his cohorts today. Hallelujah!

Body Overhaul

on Feb 18 in Healing tagged by admin

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Romans 8:11)

If you’ve been using a car for a while, you’d be familiar with the term “engine overhaul.” During an overhaul, the various parts of the engine are cleaned, inspected, repaired where necessary, and upgraded for optimal functionality.

In the Christ, God gave us a system to overhaul our bodies, and it is required of us to do so regularly. Although some people use physical exercise as a form of body overhaul to keep their bodies fit, that’s just a lower level. There is a higher level that keeps you healthy, strong and perfectly normal perpetually, this is done through praying in the Holy Ghost.

Praying in the Spirit stirs up the anointing in you; it causes the currents of the Spirit to flow through every fibre of your being and cell in your body. As you pray in tongues, overhauling your system, the Holy Ghost works within you and causes you to be vitalized from the inside.

Christians who don’t engage regularly in this form of body overhaul may find their bodies functioning like that of ordinary men, and that’s not meant to be. Right now, wrap your hands around your body and vitalize it by praying in the Holy Ghost.

Hallelujah!

Let the Word dominate you

on Jan 14 in Healing, Uncategorized tagged by admin

The Word of God has the ability to impact not only your spirit and your mind, but also your physical body. In Hebrews 4:12, the Bible says God’s Word reaches right into your soul and spirit, and your joints and bone marrow. That means as you take the Word into you, it goes into your mind, and impacts every fiber of your being.

God’s Word works in your spirit the same way physical food works in your body. Just as the food you eat is broken down and absorbed until it becomes part of you, so also the Word of God that you receive into your spirit, becomes in you what it says.

The Bible says, “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 timothy 4:15). What are you supposed to meditate on? God’s Word!
Make the quality decision today to let God’s Word dominate you. Be a doer and not just a hearer of the Word. Have definite times when you listen to God’s Word and study the Scriptures voraciously. Have definite times of meditation, when you ruminate on the Word and speak it until it soaks deeply into you.

As you allow the Word of God dominate you, sickness, failure, and everything that comes from the devil will not find place in your life. You’ll live victoriously every day!

Keep Your Body in Health

on Aug 31 in Healing tagged by admin

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19)

As a child of God, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19), which means your body isn’t yours; it’s owned by God. However, you’re the one who has charge over your body, to keep it in health. You’re to exercise authority over it, keeping it free of sickness, disease and infirmity.

The Lord Jesus’ Words in our opening verse should let you know that you’re not ordinary. Also, He said in Mark 11:23, that you shall have what you say. This means, you have the right to tell your body how it should feel, and it’ll respond. If you’ve been struggling with an addiction, declare with boldness, “I’m not going to let anything dominate me. I keep my body in subjection to the Word of God!” Don’t permit in your body anything that’s not consistent with God’s provision of health, as shown to us in the Word; take charge and rule over your body with the Word of God.

When you perceive symptoms of sickness in your body, reject them, for they only become real when you say they are. Your words aren’t empty; what you say comes to pass; therefore, talk to your body always, and keep it in health.

A Special Breed

on Aug 17 in Healing tagged by admin

And these signs shall follow them that believe…” (Mark 16:17)

The Christian is a special breed; he belongs to God’s class of being. He’s a partaker of the divine nature; that means, an associate of the God-kind. This is why we say that a Christian ought not to be sick–it’s premised on this reality.

You’re born of God’s incorruptible seed—His Word (1 Peter 1:23); therefore, the life in you can’t be corrupted by sickness, disease or death.

However, in spite of this truth, there’re still some who believe it’s normal for a Christian to be sick; but that’s completely at variance with what the Word teaches. In Mark 16:17-18, the Lord Jesus said concerning the Christian, “And these signs shall follow them that believe…if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Remarkable!

This means, you’re amongst those that can’t be “infected” by anything! Jesus said so, and if He did, then it’s absolute reality. No infection should have power over you. It makes no difference if this hasn’t been your experience, the words of the Master hold true. Meditate on the Word until it becomes your mind-set and experience. He created you for glory, beauty, and excellence; therefore, refuse to accommodate anything that’s inconsistent with His nature in your life.

Take Charge of your Body

on Aug 07 in Healing tagged by admin

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20)

Our physical bodies were entrusted to us by God. Although man is not a physical body, He is given one by God, and this body is required to function legally on the earth. 1 Corinthians 15:38 (AMP) says that God gives “…to each kind of seed a body of its own.” So the responsibility of taking care of your body is yours and not God’s.

This is why when sickness tries to fasten itself to your body, you should reject it. Don’t accommodate disease or infirmity in your body; cut them out with God’s Word. Tell your body what to do and it will do it; determine how it should feel! Don’t talk like the people of the world who say what they feel and see; rather, take charge of body; use your tongue to control every situation.

Say, “In the Name of Jesus, I refuse disease in my body”, and your words will come to pass. That’s what Jesus said to us in Mark 11:23; He said you shall have what you say. Keep your body in subjection to God’s Word, and refuse to give satan any foothold in it.

Grow Unto Maturity

on Jul 26 in Healing tagged by admin

And if ye be Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29).

As one who is born again, you’re Abraham’s seed, and therefore, all of God’s blessings belong to you (Galatians 3:29). But to effectively appropriate these blessings to your life, your words must align with the Word of God, and the realities of the new creation.

For example, when a Christian says “O Lord, heal me; I just caught the flu and I am so sick”; you can immediately locate him as a babe in the things of the Spirit. The spiritually mature would rather speak the wisdom of God. Rather than talk sickness, he’d speak health and life. He’d say “The same Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in me therefore I cannot be sick; I’m vitalized by the power of God – spirit, soul and body!” There’s a clear difference.

The babe in Christ seeks to be healed; but the spiritually mature knows he cannot be sick, because he is the righteousness of God in Christ and therefore speaks accordingly. James 3:2 AMP says “For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature.” Spiritual maturity is measured by your words; therefore, it’s important that you grow in the Word unto maturity, and learn to communicate rightly.

Heal the Sick

on Jul 03 in Healing tagged by admin

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick” (Luke 9:1-2).

God has given us the authority in the Name of Jesus to issue decrees with daring audacity and have them established. That’s why we can speak and act in boldness because of who we are in Christ. For example, when you study the Scriptures, you’d realize that God never asked us to pray to Him to heal the sick; rather, He says we should to heal the sick.

In Matthew 10:8, Luke 9:2, Luke 10:9, Jesus charged the disciples to heal the sick; He didn’t ask them to pray to Him or to the Father to heal the sick. In Mark 16:17-18 He said, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Jesus made it clear that we have been given the authority in His Name to heal the sick.

Peter, addressing the lame man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful said, “…Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). He was conscious of the authority he had and knew that though he couldn’t give the man money at that time, he could ‘give’ him healing in the Name of Jesus.

When you pray for the sick, make bold decrees! Command the devils responsible for the sickness to come out and that the sick be healed in the Name of Jesus.

What Have You Done With the Word?

on Jun 23 in Healing tagged by admin

Put into action the word I covenanted with you when you left Egypt. I’m living and breathing among you right now. Don’t be timid. Don’t hold back” (Haggai 2:5 MSG)

The Spirit of God wants us to think and function in consistency with the Word. He wants us to know it’s our responsibility to see to it that His Word comes to pass in our lives! The Word has already been given, Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”, and it will work and produce results for anyone who acts on it. So your responsibility as a Christian is to work the Word and bring it to pass in your life!

Isaiah 33:24 says, “And the inhabitant [of Zion] shall not say, I am sick…” And Hebrews 12:22 lets us know we dwell in Zion, ““But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God…” What have you done with these truths? For one to cry to God for healing, having come across these truths, means he’s ignorant! You’re the caretaker of your body and you ought to decide what happens to it. If anything goes wrong with it, then heal it with the Word. Make a change today with the Word!

Zion: A Place of Absolute Health

on Jun 02 in Healing tagged by admin

And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity” (Isaiah 33:24)

In the scripture above, the prophet Isaiah talks about a city and informs us that the inhabitants of that city shall not say, “I am sick.” He introduces us to a place of absolute health. In Hebrews 12:22, the Bible tells us that we have come into that city; it’s called Zion – the city of the living God. That means those of us who are born again have been born into Zion and have become bona fide citizens of this glorious land of assurance and health.

There’s no sickness in Zion. The day you made Jesus Lord of your life, you came into the place called Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17); you came into Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem. In Colossians 1:13 it’s called the Kingdom of God’s dear Son: “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” So, as a child of God you live in this spiritual kingdom where divinity reigns; where divine health is your present-hour possession. There’s no darkness there; that’s why it’s called the kingdom of light!

You’re not subject to the darkness and the depraved systems and structures of this world; you belong in Zion! It’s a land of glory, prosperity, beauty and honour, where sickness is foreign. Therefore you have both the right and responsibility to say “no” to sickness and refuse to be sick.
