Attend to the Word

on Apr 14 in Uncategorized tagged by admin

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22)

Do you realize that the Word of God is health to your flesh? The Hebrew word ‘marpe’ which is translated health in our opening scripture can also be translated ‘medicine.’ The Word of God is medicine to your flesh; this means if you take the Word of God into your system, it will produce results in you. It will heal your body, get rid of the cancer and destroy the migraine headaches; that’s the way the Word of God works – it heals your bones and cleanses your blood. Realize that your healing is in the Word and it’s important to apply it to your body.

God uses His Word to bring about what He desires. If you need health in your body today, God will only create it through His Word. Psalm 107:17-20 says, Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted… they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them…” God sent healing to them through His Word. Your healing is in the Word and it’s important you give it your attention.

In our opening scripture, the Bible enjoins us to attend to the Word because of its ability to produce life and health in you. This goes beyond agreeing with the Word mentally. The Word has to go into your spirit and become personal to you; meditate on it till it alters your mindset and inundates you entire being, and then confess it with your mouth. Praise God!

Give no place to sickness in your body!

on Mar 27 in Healing tagged by admin

As a Christian, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, but you’re the custodian or caretaker of your body. Thus, you have the right to determine what happens to, and in your physical body.
As the watchman over your body, it’s your responsibility to give no place to sickness, for you stand to give account to God for whatever you allow or disallow in your body. You are to permit in your body only those things that are consistent with the Word of God for your life. That means you’re to give no place to sickness, disease or infirmity in your body.
Sickness cannot stay in your body if you don’t allow it. Your body can only get sick when you endorse it; sickness is nothing but a mirage. No wonder the Bible says – they that dwell in Zion shall not say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). So as one who’s born again, refuse to be sick. Take charge and rule over your body with the Word of God; refuse to yield your body to sickness.
When you sense the symptoms of sickness in your body, refuse to consider them for they are nothing but lying vanities. They only become real when you say they are, because what you say is what you get (Mark 11:23). Therefore never endorse sickness, just because you sense symptoms, only speak the Word. Praise God!

Zion: A place of Absolute Health

on Mar 19 in Uncategorized tagged by admin

Isaiah 33:24 “And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.”

In the scripture above the Prophet Isaiah talks about the city of Zion and informs us that the inhabitants of that city shall not say “I am sick.” He introduces us to a place of absolute health. In Hebrews 12:22, the Bible tells us that we have come into that city; it’s called Zion – the city of the living God. This means those of us who are born again have been born into Zion and have become bona fide citizens of this glorious land of assurance and health.

The day you made Jesus Lord of your life, you came into a place called Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17); you came into Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem. In Colossians 1:13 it’s called the kingdom of God’s dear Son: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. So, as a child of God you live in this spiritual kingdom where divinity reigns and divine health is your present hour possession. There’s no darkness there; that’s why it’s called the Kingdom of light!

How important it is for you to realize that the Kingdom to which you belong is not the same as the kingdom of this world where sin, sickness, disease and infirmities hold men in bondage. You’re not subject to the darkness and depraved systems and structures of this world; you belong in Zion! It’s a land of glory, prosperity, beauty and honour, where sickness is foreign. Therefore you have both the right and responsibility to say “no” to sickness, and refuse to be sick. Glory to God!

Set A Time For Your Miracle!

Taking the story of Hannah in the Old Testament as a case study, she had been married to Elkanah for several years without a child, and must have been hoping this would change someday, but it didn’t. One day, she got tired of the situation and made up her mind for a miracle. She said to herself, “It’s today or never!” Then she went into the house of the Lord and fell on her face before God, bringing forth her case. While she was there, Eli the high priest observed her lips moving but didn’t hear any words coming out of her mouth, so he thought she was drunk and rebuked her, saying, “Woman, are you not tired of your drunkenness?” (1 Samuel 1:13-14).

Sir, I’m not drunk; I’m just pouring out my heart before the Lord,” she replied (1 Samuel 1:15). We’ve always thought all Hannah did was make a vow to God, but she did more; she argued her case before God. She petitioned God and gave Him strong reasons why she must have a child. Then the high priest answered and said to her, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him (1 Samuel 1:17). Afterwards, Hannah conceived, gave birth to a son and named him Samuel (1 Samuel 1:20).

If you’ve been praying and desiring a certain change in your life, you can decide you want that change today, and it will happen. Many suffer for long because they don’t know it’s their responsibility, not God’s, to effect the change they desire in their lives.

Bring forth your strong reasons,” that’s what the Lord says in Isaiah 41:21. Hannah did and got the petition she asked of Him. What is that miracle you desire? Present your case before the Lord. If it’s concerning your health, 1 Peter 2:24 says, Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. This is your evidence; stand your ground, and then take hold of your miracle today!

Divine Health: Your Right in Christ Jesus

on Mar 03 in Uncategorized tagged by admin

God’s desire for His children is that they live in divine health. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2). The life He gave you when you got born again is divine, and that life can’t be corrupted by sickness and disease. As a Christian, you are free from death and its effects (Romans 8:2). That includes sickness, for sickness is incipient death. The reason many Christians are still suffering is that they are oblivious of this truth.
The Bible says in Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” The Holy Spirit dwelling in you will invigorate, vitalize, and give strength and life to your body. When you’re ignorant of God’s Word, you’ll continually live in sickness and erroneously think it’s God’s way of punishing or disciplining you. However, when you become well acquainted with the truth, you’ll be able to walk out of the oppression of the enemy: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). For the adversary can only take advantage of those who are ignorant of the truth. Therefore, get a hold of God’s Word and make it personal to you. By that I mean, do more in meditation and declaration of God’s Word concerning yourself. Remember, it’s your right and present possession to live in divine health and prosperity. Praise God!

Do Not Break The Hedge

on Mar 02 in Healing tagged by admin

Many people believe that Job was speaking the mind of God when he said, “…the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” (Job 1:21). But a good study of the book of Job will reveal this is not exactly the truth. God gave him, but He sure wasn’t the One who took away from him.

The devil had come into the presence of God, and accused Job of serving God only because of the things God had given to him, claiming that if Job were to encounter problems he would turn against God. (Read Chapter one of the book of Job). He even went as far as saying God had put a hedge about Job on all side (Job 1:10). God eventually told Satan that all Job had was in his hands, except that he should not touch the man himself. This gives an impression that the devil was the one who brought all Job’s problems upon him. But when you read the latter part of Job 2:3, you get another impression. Job 2:3, “And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.” This actually gives an impression that God brought about all the catastrophe of chapter one upon Job, but this is very far from the truth. We need to observe something about the man Job. Job 3:25-26, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.” This was part of his lamentation after several troubles came upon him. But can you imagine these coming from a man who was supposed to have had a hedge round about him from God? For one thing, we can conclude that Job was ignorant of this hedge of protection. Secondly we can see that he lived in fear. Job lived in fear. Fear is the opposite of faith.

Fear is faith in your adversary, and just like faith, fear is expressed in words and action. So Job lived in fear, and talked fear and acted fear, till fear grew up like a giant and bound him. He said he was not in safety, and the moment he said that, his protection was destroyed. Job overthrew himself. God never tempts anybody with evil. The Bible says God is good, He daily loads you with benefits (Psalm 68:19). Ecclesiastes 10:8,12, “He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him…The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.” The question then is: Who broke the hedge? Was it God, or did the Satan break it forcefully? No! Job broke the hedge. Job broke the hedge with his wrong confessions. God made a hedge round about him, so he could be in safety. But he came along and said he was not in safety, and in fact, did not keep quiet about the fact that he was not in safety. He told everybody he was not in safety, and the moment he said that, he broke his hedge of protection!

When you say things that are not in line with the Word of God, you break the hedge; fellowship is broken, and that old serpent the devil comes right in to kill you. You can talk yourself to the grave with your own words. Satan can’t destroy you because the Bible says in Hebrews 2:14, that Jesus paralyzed him that had the power of death, which is the devil. He had the power of death before but he doesn’t have it anymore.

Satan can’t kill, so the only thing he tries to do is move you against yourself, so you can overthrow yourself. Satan’s action against the Christian is sickness, disease and infirmity. He can either bring sickness or death if you let him. He’ll try to cause you to say things you shouldn’t say, and when you say them, he’ll take advantage of your words and produce for you what you talked about. “The lips of a fool will swallow him up” (Ecclesiastes 10:12).

Now you can understand why the Bible says, “The power of life and death are in the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). You can speak life to yourself, and you can also speak sickness and death to your body. We must be careful as Christians. The life we have is a life of power, a life of dominion a life worth living, but it’s up to us to make the choice.

You have to learn to bear responsibility of speaking life to your body.

God’s will is revealed in His Word

on Feb 18 in Healing tagged by admin

Healing already came to us at the Cross and God is more willing to heal us than we are willing to be healed. So why do Christians fall sick? Why do we find a lot of God’s children suffering and in pain? There are several reasons for this, but thank God, there’s no situation that cannot be brought under the control of God’s Word. Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
This is the principal reason a lot of God’s people are in sickness: lack of knowledge and understanding of the Word of God concerning them. The word ‘destroyed’ has as its synonyms ‘suffer’ and ‘perish,’ so we might as well say, “God’s people suffer because of lack of knowledge.” A lot of Christians have perfect understanding of every issue of life except that which is most vital – the Word of God, what God has said concerning them, who they are in Christ, what they can do and what they have in Him.

Only the Word of God can reveal this to us. We need to know who we are, what we can do and what we have. When you know who you are you will know how to live. You will realize there are certain things you don’t need to pray about. We were born into the rest of God, but too many Christians don’t know this. If you’ve entered into God’s rest, you’ve ceased from your own works like God did. But if you don’t know this, you’ll struggle in life. Hebrews 4:10, ”For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.”
That’s why it’s so vital that we have an understanding of the Word of God. Understanding of God’s Word will reveal your identity to you. Then you can live accordingly, because if you don’t know who you are, you can never act accordingly.

The Bible says if we ask according to God’s will He hears us (1 John 4:17). That means you should have known His will before asking. How do we know the will of God? God’s will is revealed in His Word. You never have to worry about the will of God if you know the Word of God. You can’t afford to lack in the knowledge of God’s Word. No wonder Paul prayed for his converts always that they would understand God’s will. For the Ephesian Church he prayed that God would give unto them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, and that the eyes of their understanding will be enlightened (Ephesians 1:17, 18). For the Colossian Church, he prayed that they would be filled with the knowledge of God’s willing in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9) actually teach this. The Word of God will bless you when you know it.

Divine Health Is Now Yours

on Jan 27 in Healing tagged by admin

When you were recreated with the life of God, you were recreated in divine health. You have to understand this. The fallen nature of the first Adam came with sickness and could be influenced by it, but the nature of God, which you have now received, came with life. It came with health.

The power of sickness is destroyed. It cannot have a home in your body. Sickness has become a thing of the past. Health became yours the day you received Jesus into your life. It became your present tense possession. You don’t have to get it by faith. A lot of times we don’t understand this and we turn back to live on the plane of the ordinary man, but you can stay in health. Colossians 1:27, “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Christ alive in you, living in your body, is enough to let you know that sickness is not part of God’s plan for you.

You need to have a personal revelation of God so when people try to push sickness off on you, you can reject it. God isn’t the one who gives and takes away at will as Job said.

Job 1:21, “And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

But this isn’t right, because when you study the account of Job’s life very well, you’ll discover God gave to him, but the devil took away from him.

At the end, Job repented and said, “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes” (Job 42:5-6). His three friends had told him God put the sickness on him to teach him a lesson. But at the end when he learnt of God for himself, he repented.

This should be your declaration from your lips, “I am the glory of God; a partaker of His divine nature; His righteousness; His dwelling place, I have been created for the GOD LIFE!”

The Universal Medicine

on Aug 15 in Uncategorized tagged by admin

“…He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions (Psalm 107:20)

Our opening scripture lets us know that the Word of God heals and delivers. If you were sick and took time to meditate on the Word, the Word will produce healing in you. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:20-22, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

The word translated health above is the Hebrew word “marpe,” which means medicine. The Word of God is medicine to your physical body; it will rejuvenate and revitalize you when you apply it to your life; the Word is alive and full of power, that means it’s active, operative and effective. Hence it doesn’t matter what the case is, if you would hear the Word and accept it, it would produce in you and for you the desired results.

Not only is the Word the antidote for sickness and disease, it’s also the perfect recipe for success and prosperity: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”(Joshua 1:8).

God has already sent His Word to address every situation you’ll ever face in life. He has already sent His Word for your deliverance, healing, prosperity, and spiritual advancement. It’s your responsibility to lay hold on His Word. The Word of God in your spirit and in your mouth will make you what it talks about. That’s what you need to be all that God wants you to be, and to experience the divine transformation that’ll make you a wonder to you world.

Let the Word dominate you.

on Feb 20 in Uncategorized tagged by admin

The Word of God has the ability to impact not only your spirit and your mind, but also your physical body. In Hebrews 4:12, the Bible says God’s Word reaches right into your soul and spirit, and your joints and bone marrow. That means as you take the Word into you, it goes into your mind, and impacts every fiber of your being.

God’s Word works in your spirit the same way physical food works in your body. Just as the food you eat is broken down and absorbed until it becomes part of you, so also the Word of God that you receive into your spirit, becomes in you what it says.

The Bible says, “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 timothy 4:15). What are you supposed to meditate on? God’s Word!

Make the quality decision today to let God’s Word dominate you. Be a doer and not just a hearer of the Word. Have definite times when you listen to God’s Word and study the Scriptures voraciously. Have definite times of meditation, when you ruminate on the Word and speak it until it soaks deeply into you.

As you allow the Word of God dominate you, sickness, failure, and everything that comes from the devil will not find place in your life. You’ll live victoriously every day!
