Contend for the faith

on Jul 12 in Uncategorized tagged by admin

In his letter to the Church, Jude urges us to contend for the real faith that was deleivered to us; in other words, don’t let it be watered down. Go for the real thing that was given to you and don’t settle for substandard Christianity.

We can’t win the world for Jesus without proof. The power of the Spirit of God must be manifested in your life. You have to preach Jesus, because this is the message that produces the miraculous.

In acts 19:1-20, Paul went to Ephesus, a city that was wholly given to idolatry, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He preached for about 3 months without success. But when the people saw the mighty miracles he performed in the Name of Jesus, they believed. The Bible says in Acts 19:11-12, “and God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick, handkerchiefs and aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. The presence of God was awesome in the land, such that “…fear fell on them all, and the Name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many that believed came and confessed…” (Act 19:17-18).

Make up your mind to contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. Without the miraculous, there is no other way to validate our claims that Jesus is alive.
