The Measurement of a Man’s strength

The worth of a man is measured by the greatness of his adversaries. You measure his importance by the power of the resistance he faces. The man that God uses will collide with powerful forces because the message in his mouth will be resisted.

God’s confidence in man is measured by the kind of decisions he makes. He can dare you to make unpopular decisions or take steps that can stir the nest of others. But He will never ask you to do something stupid. If God tells you to do it, you will come out victorious at the end. There may be a lot of heat but if you are tough, you will be standing when the fire burns out!

Jesus already said in His Word that we would be persecuted. The prophets of old were seriously persecuted; the Apostles were striped naked, flogged and stoned; some were even killed. But they rejoiced in all these because they made God’s Words and obedience to his voice top priority. The Lord Jesus was also rejected by His own.

Therefore, as the Word says, be followers of them who through faith and promise, inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:12).
